What was the most amazing skiing experience for you?
I have been really lucky in my life to travel the world in search of great mountain to climb and ski. I would have to say that one of my best experiences was guiding a client to the summit of Mt. Everest and skiing the amazing Lhotse face in perfect powder snow on the way down.
Your favorite destination?
I love where I live, in Aspen/Snowmass, but I always love a trip to the Alps- especially Chamonix, Lech/ Zurs, Verbier, and Courmayeur. And of course the Dolomites. I also am looking forward to another deep powder trip to Japan.
In wich segment of the Warren Miller movie can we see you? What´s so special about this skiing destination?
In this year's film, "Flow State" I'm skiing in Telluride, Colorado with Telluride Heli Trax. The San Juan mountains of SouthWest Colorado are a very big and very beautiful mountain range and Telluride is one of the most beautiful mountain towns in the world. Oh and we also have a race car in this segment!
What are you doing when you have a bad day?
I can't say I ever have a "bad day", but i guess any day that I don't get to work out or do something active is not the best.
What`s your favorite food after skiing?
I would say that really depends where I am at in the world. Usually just a couple cold beers is fine with me.
Who inspires you?
I'm inspired by anyone who pushed boundaries in their sports- people who look to raise the bar on what is possible. I love what mountain athletes Killian Jornet and Ueli Steck are doing in the mountains right now, and always looked to Reinhold Messner is a hero of mine.
Which dream do you have?
I dream about sailing around the world with my family for a year.
What´s so special about the "Flow State"?
The Flow State is a state of mind, a place where you get so incredibly focused on the task at hand that nothing else matters. When you can get yourself into this state you can accomplish really incredible things.
What´s coming up next?
I've got a really busy winter ahead with lots of great trips guiding clients on exotic ski trips, both heli-skiing and ski mountaineering, in places like Alaska, Canada, and Colorado. I'm also working closely with my sponsors on new product development- Kastle Skis on their new ski line, with Spyder Clothing on my signature White Spyder technical gear line, and with SCARPA boots on a new high-performance freeride boot.
