Interviewwww.chrisanthony.con Twitter: Chrisanthonyski What is your biggest fear? Freezing to death or being eaten by little bugs. What’s the last book you’ve read? It’s Not About the Bike Where do you see yourself in 5 years? More adventure, more filming, Building my Youth Initiative Program to a greater degree with more impact. There are so many more places on want to bring the film as well. Boxers or briefs? Commando & Loose Boxers. What’s your favorite drink? Favorite food? Arnold Palmer, Sushi and Mexican. I tried some real Mongol food for the film this year. How old were you when you first tried on skis? 18 Months old What is your most treasured possession? My photos, video and films. Tell us about YSC Academy in Brazil, and how you are connected with them? A long time friend and ski buddy built YSC Academy in Philadelphia. This is a soccer facility. He is loosely basing his approach with skill development for kids by modeling it after the Brazilian way of soccer. We both agree that sport; teamwork and hard work in a healthy surrounding develop better youth, which means a stronger future for them. Having the right role models around them with the correct imaging all adds to this. They will be more productive down the road, wherever life takes them. This is part of my Youth Initiative Program that I’m taking to a variety of Youth oriented facilities and providing opportunity. For example my Chris Anthony Children’s Hospital ski Day, or the school visits I do through Colorado Ski Country and other organizations. As well as lately I have been working a bit with First Descents, a young adult program for Cancer Survivors. What do you enjoy most about working with First Descents? The energy. They are young men and women whom have gone through a difficulty in life that few can relate to. In doing so they have become stronger once a program like First Descents bring their confidence back. This is so positive. Can you describe the Kanas locals’ reaction to your modern ski gear compared to their primitive gear? They were amazed by the colors and the mechanics of it. But felt that it was really to complicated, heavy and fragile. I mean their stuff works and uses less energy, less engineering and can be fixed with most things in the immediate area if broken. While ours needs a rocket scientist with a large tool kit to fix malfunctioning parts. ►zurück zur Athleten-Übersicht |
